Our Halloween 2008 Goblins
Halloween was good this year at our home; slow at first with a little bit of rain showers. We went thru about 50 pop corn balls...I was able to see all the grandkids including pictures from our Las Vegas ones...Notice the cool carving job Lila and the girls did on one of the pumpkins Brent and I grew in the garden!!!

My new chandelier
Yesterday a neighbor friend called and ask what I was doing for the day. I replied, "Nothing that I want to do." She quickly invited me to join her on a shopping trip in which I easily excepted. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a pleasant lunch before returning to the world of life. We went shopping at Tai Pan; a wonderful store to get lost in. We spent a few hours there...at the end I ask Kathy if she found anything she could not live without. I knew better than to ask as her cart was full!!!She ask me the same question...I led her to a corner of the store and showed her my find. It looks great in my entry way.

Truth...
I was checking out our families blogs and Brandy has this posted on hers!!!
Home is where women have the most power and influence; therefore Nurturing mothers are knowledgeable, but all the education women attain will avail them nothing if they do not have the skill to make a home that creates a climate for spiritual growth. Growth happens best in a "house of order," Nurturing requires organization, patience, love, and work. Helping growth occur through nurturing is truly a powerful and influential role bestowed on women". -Sis. Julie Beck
"Too frequently, women underestimate their influence for good. Well could you follow the formula given by the Lord: 'Establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God' (D&C 88:119)."In such a house will be found happy, smiling children who have been taught, by precept and example, the truth. In a Latter-day Saint home, children are not simply tolerated, but welcomed; not commanded, but encouraged; not driven, but guided; not neglected, but loved."Thomas S. Monson,, "The Spirit of Relief Society, Ensign," May 1992, 101-102
I know from experience and from not having a mother in the home from a early age this is so true...I believe in Motherhood. It is more than just baring children...I believe we as Mothers are co-partners with our Heavenly Father. With that said I want to face my Heavenly Father knowing I did all and more than I could do. I did it in faith and with his help.

Our Projects
Well since Brent and I got married it was always the goal to do some remodeling ect. Funny how not having funds effects everything. Anyway what we planned and what has happened caused changes big time. I have spent many days in frustration over this but it's still the same...
Over all we have gotten a few things done, we did get central air!!! I started painting and got side track with going back to work. That has been slow also. This past week I pulled out the paint again. I have one room finished as far as I can go. I wanted a new front door but after applying a coat of paint on the old door...the old door; it will work.
We also aquired a nice swing set and it needs a fresh coat of stain ect.
This week Brent and I will attempt the family room area, we are trying to get things prepared for Thanksgiving company and dinner...
We did manage to get popcorn balls done for the trick or treaters this weekend!!!
I think a picture of Brent and I, maybe even some of our wedding prints would look good above the mantle.

Avery's Birthday...more pumpkins
This past week or more (Oct. 9-18) I went to Cedar City and to Las Vegas to visit my daughters and granddaughters. There is never enough time to get all the things I need to do and time to spend with family and friends. This trip was especially hard because thing after thing kept pulling at me. I felt as if there was not enough time or enough of me to go around. All in all I got to see my girls and granddaughters. Avery Mae had a fun princess birthday (Oct.16, her true birthday Oct. 15) party and she was so beautiful. Madelynn is growing up so fast...she holds her own in all departments, beauty, personality, energy ect. She is beginning to talk now, it is quite cute. Avery reminds me so much of Lila, social butterfly, beautiful and clumsy...it is so funny. Lila showed me the new house that they plan on moving into soon; I'll have my own room. I hope Avery and Maddy will camp out with me.
Following the Las Vegas trip I headed back with a truck load of furniture Lila cannot fit into the future house...(small bedrooms). Shelley and David inherited a large swingset/fort thing...they cannnot use it so they were sweet enough to let me have it. We hauled it all the way to Farmington and now it sits in our backyard awaiting a coat of stain/varnish and years of grandkids enjoyment!!!
Along the way we enjoyed a overnight stay, swimming and golf in Filmore(Oct.17-18). Golf is $8.00 a person. Brent and I have not been able to take a vacation and he wanted to do somthing with his kids while they were out of school (UEA break). So a overnight stay and 9 holes of golf; some pizza and swimming were enjoyed. Shelley and David joined the Elliott gang and we had a pretty good time...

Conference Weekend
Well we enjoyed Conference...both Brent and I look forward to reading the Conference Ensign to get what we missed. Saturday I began cooking for Sunday dinner; as we were having some kids and grandkids over Sunday for pumpkin fun, eating and trying to watch conference among grandkids...who had in their little minds better things to do!!!
Our garden produced enough pumpkins for all the Grandkids. I will be heading to Las Vegas this week to do somemore pumpkin play with the Vegas critters...Oh and one more thing we now have TWO new grandbabies arriving in 2009...I believe we will have boys...that's my thoughts anyway...

Thanksgiving Point...Sept..2008 outing
This place is a must to see...all year long there is something going on. This year we decided to see the Gardens, and it really was worth it!!!
Gardens History
How exactly did an oasis spring out of the Lehi desert? Here's the unabridged history.
When Alan and Karen Ashton, co-founders of WordPerfect Corporation, purchased the property now known as Thanksgiving Point on Valentine's Day, 1995, it had 580 dairy cows and more than 350 acres of hay, barley, and alfalfa fields. Initially, the new owners bought the land for a farm where their children could enjoy riding horses and caring for farm animals. But their plans soon expanded to include beautiful flower gardens and extensive vegetable gardens.
Adjoining Thanksgiving Point's beautiful gardens is the charming Children's Discovery Garden, a place for young and old to experience nature in an exciting and interactive way.
They have a whimsical Noah's Ark, complete with pools of water and shooting fountains for kids and adults if they want I suppose to cool off in. There is always something going on at this place....
This place is so huge, the gardens alone take up over 85 acres. Our plans were to meet Brandi and her kids there. Lila and Heidi along with Avery, Madelyn and Jaxson were with me. It took us awhile to find Brandi. I walked the whole garden area looking for Brandi, Hayden and Maya. I was so tired I rented a golf cart and went back for them...we all enjoyed the rest of the tour riding in style!!!

Playing Catch Up....End of August Ward Fair
Wow how the time flys...My camera cannot be recharge as I lost the charger. I have wanted to take pictures and update my blog and that has been my excuse. The girls have sent me pictures so that I may catch up...Lila and the girls were able to make it up to the fair. Shelley followed a few days later, I so enjoyed their company. The hardest thing about moving to Farmington is being away from them. Many days I wish we were closer. I wish funds would loosen up so that I can visit more often and be the Grandma I so dream to be...All in all I have loved the Farmington area, my new husband, and new Ward. I am so pleased and thankful that this Ward has taken me in so kindly!!!I have made friends, canned and been gardening alot. I serve in Relief Society with some Sisters that I know are choice.
The End of August we had a ward party; a Country Fair!!!What is so cute about this picture; well at the fair it was all that you could eat, no cost on anything not even cotton candy. Let's just say no limit on cotton candy and the kids are going to explore the venture. Anyway that evening when I was putting Avery Mae to bed I said, "Avery you must of had 100 cotton candies." The look on her face was pricless she smile and replied, "I don't know Grandma but I had a lot!!!"
