Thanksgiving Point...Sept..2008 outing

This place is a must to see...all year long there is something going on. This year we decided to see the Gardens, and it really was worth it!!!

Gardens History
How exactly did an oasis spring out of the Lehi desert? Here's the unabridged history.

When Alan and Karen Ashton, co-founders of WordPerfect Corporation, purchased the property now known as Thanksgiving Point on Valentine's Day, 1995, it had 580 dairy cows and more than 350 acres of hay, barley, and alfalfa fields. Initially, the new owners bought the land for a farm where their children could enjoy riding horses and caring for farm animals. But their plans soon expanded to include beautiful flower gardens and extensive vegetable gardens.

Adjoining Thanksgiving Point's beautiful gardens is the charming Children's Discovery Garden, a place for young and old to experience nature in an exciting and interactive way.

They have a whimsical Noah's Ark, complete with pools of water and shooting fountains for kids and adults if they want I suppose to cool off in. There is always something going on at this place....

This place is so huge, the gardens alone take up over 85 acres. Our plans were to meet Brandi and her kids there. Lila and Heidi along with Avery, Madelyn and Jaxson were with me. It took us awhile to find Brandi. I walked the whole garden area looking for Brandi, Hayden and Maya. I was so tired I rented a golf cart and went back for them...we all enjoyed the rest of the tour riding in style!!!
