The Call...

Today is the day...Remember that excited and anticipation of waiting to hear where your son or daughter would be called to on their mission. I am feeling that same anticipation this very day as I await the call (Christmas phone call) from my son Kyle...Kyle has now been in the field or gone for 7 months. He is still serving in Nadi, Figi and he is now a District Leader in his area...

Merry Christmas....

Dear Famiy and Friends,

What a year it has been from the beginning to the end
Packed full of memories where does one begin.
At the begining of the year wedding plans were set and put into motion
Then Kyle receive his mission call (March 13th) stirring a exciting commotion.
Moving to Farmington, Utah caused quite a ruckus
Especially when it took two moving trucks to move us!!!

To the Temple we went on Kyle’s birthday (April 13th)
Taking out his endowments, then we (Brent & Georgie) were married the next day.
The Honeymoon started St. George here we come
Then Brent hit an elk and totaled my ½ ton.
Off we took Kyle to the MTC ( May 16th)
As he prepared to serve his mission in Sulva , Fiji.

My Mother and my Sister they are not forgotten
As their temple work was done I think of them often.
Brent’s parents they planned a Yellowstone family vacation
It helped in expanding our new family relations. (Thank You)
We escaped to Medford, Oregon for more relaxtion
Brent and I went to visit family and attended my sister Sara’s nursing graduation.

For Brent’s birthday the kids had a lot to say
they surprised Brent with his own blog this made his day. (Thank You)
The month of July brought barbeques, sleepovers, parades, fireworks and fun
Then our fruit trees ripen and the home canning season begun.
For my birthday this year Brent gave me something sweet
Six weeks of dance lessons so he could step on my feet.

Though our summer was packed and full of fun
There was much more in store as our fall festivities begun.
We enjoyed pumpkin carvings, face painting, parties and witches galore
And visits from our children and grandchildren will always be adored!!!
Our family is now bigger we have quite a crew
The Harpers, Crowthers, Salways, Porters and Brooksby now that’s not just a few.

To Boston we flew for Brent’s work convention
I enjoyed visiting the sites of the American Revolution
This year for Thanksgiving our families did sneak
To a huge warm cabin located near Duck Creek.
Now it’s December and there is still much to do
As the boys got tickets to the bowl game (In Las Vegas) to see …Guess who… BYU!!!

Merry Christmas with a Happy New Year!!! from the Elliott family….

Christmas at the Elliott's

This is the first time I have been able to have Christmas lights on my house for Christmas...
Thank you Brent...

Years ago I decorated an entry floyer for the Bishopric who ask to have something special.
Since then I have been able to use to garland over and over.
It was really fun to decorate this year, after my divorce it was sometimes hard to get into Christmas, not this year.

This is the nativity set my Father bought me years ago...

The nativity below belonged to my Mother, I can still picture her setting it up with angel hair...

My tree was too tall so we had to cut about a foot off of it to get it to fit. I miss my valted ceilings...

Years ago Kyle bought me this ceramic Christmas Tree, a snowman in the middle, every year he ask,
"do you remember me buying this mom"?
He canot ask me this year because he is on his mission, so I took a picture of it and sent it to him...
I remember son, I love it!!!
Their is some history in these little pieces, the reindeer Lila liked when she was about a year old, the skating snowmen remind me of my little Shelley who was my ice skater... Every year these pieces go up in my entry, no matter where I live.

Our living room with all my reindeer pictures...
